WHAT IS COMMUNITY THEATRE?

Community theatre is comprised of a group of volunteers who are passionate about creating quality theatre. Whether their passion is acting, producing, creating, writing or simply volunteering some time to act as an usher or stage hand, volunteers are the backbone of community theatre and LCP.  LCP is a not for profit organization made up almost completely of volunteers.

We know that sometimes the theatre can come across as pretentious and elite. We have been hearing a variety of things from folks that have taken the time to fill out the survey on the Palace Theatre's website and we would like to take a moment to dispel some myths about the Theatre.

#1.  Theatre is expensive.

Tickets at the Palace Theatre are actually quite affordable.

Adult: $22—$25

Senior (60+): $18-$25

Students (18+): $16-$20

Subscriptions start at $72 for 6 shows

London Community Players also participates in eyeGO, a program that allows students in elementary and high school to see shows for only $5!

LCP offers Preview Nights at a discounted price on the first Thursday of each production.

#2.   Going to the Theatre is “only for snobs and intellectuals because it’s all stuff you have to be educated about”.

At LCP we work very hard to bring you a variety of plays that will make you laugh, cry and think.

There is nothing more inspiring than seeing the outstanding talent that resides here in London and they may just be your bank teller, school teacher, journalist, or high-school student. Our upcoming season includes: Over the River and Through the Woods, The Diary of Anne Frank, Treasure Island, Enchanted April, Bingo and Arsenic & Old Lace

#3.    You have to get dressed up and where a suit and tie or formal wear.  It's just so much easier to go to the movies.

Theatre is, and should be, a comfortable experience.  Feel free to wear shorts, jeans, tee shirts - even flip flops - whatever you are comfortable in.  All London Community Players productions are in 3D.  Experience the excitement of live, living breathing theatre

#4.      It's the east end, it is a dangerous area and there is no parking.

London Community Players is proud to be part of the Old East Village arts community and a neighbourhood where people you meet outside the theatre are likely to say "have a nice evening" or "did you enjoy the show". As for parking we have a huge municipal lot that runs from English St. to Elizabeth directly behind the theatre.  It costs $2 to park your car for the evening and there is free parking for Sunday matinees.
